Delete your account

How to permanently delete your account and all associated data.

Applies to GateCore Authenticator (com.codeandsystems.gatecore), published by Code and Systems Ltd.

Delete from within the app

This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.

Open GateCore Authenticator Sign in if you are not already signed in.
Go to Settings Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner, then tap Settings.
Tap Delete Account Scroll to the Danger zone section at the bottom of the page.
Confirm Read the summary, then tap Delete everything. You will be signed out immediately.

This cannot be undone. Once confirmed, your account and its cloud data are erased permanently. There is no recovery period and no way for us to restore it.

Delete by email

If you can no longer sign in to the app, email info@codeandsystems.co.uk from the address registered to your account with the subject line Account deletion request.

We verify that the request comes from the account holder before acting on it, and complete verified requests within 30 days.

What is deleted

Erased from our servers

Your account and profile, including your email address and user ID
The encrypted cloud backup of your authenticator accounts
Push notification registrations and trusted device settings
Device identifiers linked to your account
Active sessions and authentication tokens

Stays on your phone

Your authenticator codes continue to work on the device where they are stored. They are held locally and are not removed by account deletion.
They will no longer sync or be backed up. If you lose or reset the phone after deleting your account, they cannot be recovered.
To remove them from the device as well, uninstall the app or delete each account individually before deleting your GateCore account.

What we keep, and for how long

A small amount of information is retained after deletion where we are legally required to keep it, or where it is needed to prove that a deletion request was properly handled.

Everything else is deleted. Nothing is kept for marketing, profiling or analytics.

If your account was created by your employer

GateCore Authenticator is used by organisations to protect their own systems. If your account was created for you by your employer, deleting it removes your access to the accounts your employer protects with it. Speak to your IT administrator before you delete, so that access can be arranged another way.
